Product Description
This powerpoint presentation can be used to support math talks in a kindergarten classroom, pre-k, or even early first grade. The purpose of the daily math talk is to get the CHILDREN to talk and discover the world of numbers! The teacher does very little talking. The children give their discoveries, as well as discuss and critique the reasoning of others. These math talks should also incorporate questions from the 8 math practices. Daily math talks are a necessary part of incorporating the math practices in your daily instruction. They include many subitizing activities.

It includes subitizing activities on screen (or you can print), that are timed to disappear after a few seconds. The September activities are using the numbers 1-5 for ease of use. Later months will include higher amounts. IMPORTANT NOTE: in order for the animations to make items disappear you must use it in the presenter view. There are notes on many of the screens that include some directions/suggestions. BE CERTAIN to read the notes on the screens for ease of use.

Included are: "dot" representations replaced with a seasonal item, ten frames, rekenreks, and unifix cubes.

Math talks are one of the only ways to incorporate all 8 mathematical practices into a math lesson.
