This is a 30 day math warm up for grades 2 - 4. Get your students discussing math in ways you never imagined. This activity is designed to start each day's lesson.
The first box, students will write in a journal, white board, etc anything they can tell about the number, fraction, picture that they see using mathematical terms and prior knowledge.
The 4 boxes are to create discussion. Students will first "defend" a box and tell why it is unique or different from the others. Then allowing them to share their box they feel is unique and doesn't belong with the others gets them to see other points of view, learn new math terms, and see math from a perspective they didn't see before.
