Mix it up a little and have some fun reviewing your number theory unit with this “print and go” scavenger hunt. Play some fast tempo music or set the timer to get kids pumped up for the challenge. Post the Number Theory Scavenger Hunt task cards around the room or hide them to increase the challenge. Either way, students will have fun while solving these problems as an end-of-unit review.
Number Theory Scavenger Hunt was developed with sixth graders in mind; however, this could be used for your higher level fifth-grade students who need a challenge or your lower level seventh-grade students needing a review. Through this activity, students will practice: (1) using divisibility rules (2)finding prime numbers, factors, and prime factorization, and (3) finding the greatest common factor and least common multiple.
