This is a great activity for practicing number recognition, counting and 1:1
To allow for differentiation, there are:
* 3 mats for practising numbers 0 – 10
* 5 mats for practising 0 – 15
* 10 mats for practising 0 - 20
The only things required are the number sheets and unifix blocks (I always laminate my resources so I can reuse them).
Students use unifix blocks to build a tower that corresponds with the numeral.
Encourage the students to recount their tower by pointing to each block (1:1 correspondence) to ensure they have the correct number.
Each sheet has a question - What number is the biggest/smallest? - for the student to answer.
The activity takes approximately 15 minutes.
