Number Word Jigsaw Puzzles: One to Thirty
Common Core stresses the importance of vocabulary. How does a teacher introduce all of the words a student needs to know? This matching activity focuses on number words from zero to thirty. The jigsaw puzzles are self-correcting, students automatically know when they have the correct answer. This fun activity can be used to introduce or review number words. (Use only a few if you are introducing the words.) The puzzle pieces fit perfect in a pocket chart but they also can be used on a table or floor. These puzzles are great for a September center in first and second grade.
Jigsaw puzzles are a simple low maintenance center that students love. They are also great for new students. Use the puzzles to help them catch up and evaluate what they know.
Here is what is included:
*30 jigsaw puzzle pieces with the number words “one to thirty”
*30 jigsaw puzzle pieces with the numerals: 1 to 30
*Center Sign (you can resize)
*Four task cards with ideas to extend learning
*Task card template for you to add your activities (personal use only)
I designed each puzzle set so there is only one correct match. Also, to save you money the puzzles were made so you can print them on color cardstock to save your color ink. Store them in a baggie with the center sign showing.
Have fun with vocabulary,
