This activity was created as a practice activity to differentiate between numbers, letters and words. My students often use these words interchangeably. To complete the activity give each child a copy of each paper. I run mine on construction paper to make it fun. Have each child cut out the words: letters, numbers, words. Glue these to a large paper folded in thirds or to three paper plates. Then have the children cut out the boxes on the other sheet and keep in a baggie, so all of the pieces do not get lost. The child will then sort the words, numbers and letters. After the activity is completed have each child read the words to you. I have this activity in place for children to do after they finish their work and can work on it over the course of a few days. I also use it as a whole group lesson during morning meeting and give each child a few pieces to place on the plates. Hope you enjoy!
