Number sense is an important skill for all early learners to develop and master. It is the foundation for all mathematical thinking and the base for more complex computations. To develop a sound number sense, children need have fluidity and flexibility with numbers. These worksheets explore numbers 1- 10 in a variety of contexts to promote flexible thinking in number. They allow students to explore numerals, number words, subitising patterns, tally marks, ten frames, number lines and pictorial representations for the numerals 1-10.
These worksheets are designed to be a printable resources to use in the classroom, there are 60 worksheets in total, including the assessment pages. Some pages can either be laminated or put in a plastic sleeve to be reusable, while others have cut and paste elements and are designed for a one off use.
Each number from 1-10 has the following worksheets:
-I can read the number
-I can write the number
-I can represent the number (cut and paste)
-I can read representations of the number (color by different representations)
-I can represent the number
Assessment (can be used as a pre and post assessment)
Each worksheet also has an “I can……” statement and a student self-evaluation section. The resource also includes a number reading assessment page for numerals and number words 1-10, that is in addition to the assessment worksheet.
This resource is not editable, except in the case or author error.
