Print one copy of this template for each student and use it all year to practice building strong number sense. Use this in small groups, during morning work, or incorporate into Math centers /curriculum. There are 27 different activities students can do with their daily number. Introduce gradually and let them practice before moving on to more challenging ones. Laminate their sheet and they can keep it in their journal. Some of the activities include writing the expanded form, standard form and roman numeral. A few other activities are identifying if it is odd or even, counting on from the number by 3's, and multiplying by 2 or 3. I used this with 2nd graders but more capable first graders can do many of these activities. This would be appropriate for first semester of 3rd grade too.
