I created this bundle to go along with the Number of the Day Board. While I loved the practice the students would get with our number of the day routine, I was finding that some students were finishing quickly while others were needing more time. I do math rotations in order for me to work with students who need support. I needed to find more work for the fast finishers. I also needed to support the students who struggled with new skills.
My solution: Number of the Day Board Bundle
Number of the Day Board: Great way to differentiate instruction during math rotations or guided math and allow practice for students to master skills. *I've included an editable template to add skills and numbers if needed.*
Journal Pages: I originally made sheets for students to record their answers on rather than a spiral to help students organize their work. I then made sheets to copy onto the back of the recording sheets for my fast finishers. I wanted something that would allow 1 page to provide multiple practice opportunities (that were also different each time). Students are able to use the same skill sheet over and over again because they can change the problems. The journal pages provide many opportunities for students to practice and master skills. *There are 47 skills sheets included, all with multiple opportunities to change the problems. There are 5 recording sheets.*
Game Boards: I realized that the journal pages were a great opportunity for students to work on together. I made the journal pages into game boards so they can be laminated and used over and over again. *There are 46 different game boards.*
The journal pages can be used to assess their skills, while the game boards provide the necessary practice and opportunity to work and discuss with a partner.
*Game boards can be used independently as well.
Each game board and journal page can be used over and over to allow students to master skills…all on the same sheet. The only materials needed are a pencil and a paperclip (aside from the word problem sheets-which require no materials. Yay!).
Rotation Chart: This is a bonus chart, if you are thinking about starting math rotations or guided math this rotation chart can help pull it all together.
