Number of the day is the perfect way to review foundational math skills each day. Lots of my students need constant repetition, so this helps them review key vocabulary and math concepts that we've already learned in class. Plus- this packet is a great way to get your morning work planned for the entire month! I know I can't be the only one who would randomly throw some stuff together sometimes, right!? :)
This packet focuses on fractions and decimals. I like to use these as morning work each day, and then we review them at the end of math time when I have my quick “ spiral review time.”
Included are 20 days worth of morning work activities. Students answer the questions and then we review them as a class. Some days I like to take them up for a spot check assessment. I then have students turn them in every Friday so I can monitor their growth or decide what we need to focus on next.
adding/subtracting fractions( like denominators)
multiplying fractions (like denominators)
writing decimals in word form
turning a decimal into a fraction
labeling a decimal on a number line
showing a decimal using base-ten blocks
** An answer key is provided **
* Some sections require students to create their own word problems for an enrichment.
Please check out the preview to get an idea as to what the questions are like each day. Please let me know if you have any questions! I hope your students benefit from this as much as mine!
