Do your students need help improving their number sense? This number of the day activity may be exactly what they need! Use these worksheets daily to practice a variety of skills with two, three, or four digit numbers. This product includes 3 blackline masters that you can print and use. Simply write your number in the pencil at the top of the page before copying and each day your students will practice the following skills on the 2 digit form:

-write the number in word form

-write the number in expanded form

-identify the number as odd or even

-write the number that is 1 more/1 less than the number of the day

-write the number that is 10 more/10 less than the number of the day

-write the sum of the digits in the number

-write 3 addition or subtraction equations that are equivalent names for the number

-identify which digit is in the ones and which is in the tens place

-show the number using coins

Your students will practice the following skills on the 3 digit form:

-write the number in word form

-write the number in expanded form

-identify the number as odd or even

-draw a base 10 model of the number

-write the number that is 10 more/10 less than the number of the day

-write the number that is 100 more/100 less than the number of the day

-write the sum of the digits in the number

-write 3 addition or subtraction equations that are equivalent names for the number

-identify which digit is in the ones, tens, and hundreds place

-draw the number using bills and coins (I have my students think of the number of the day in cents. So for 234 they show 234 cents.)

Your students will practice the following skills on the 4 digit form:

-write the number in word form

-write the number in expanded form

-identify the number as odd or even

-write the number that is 10 more/10 less than the number of the day

-write the number that is 100 more/100 less than the number of the day

-write the number that is 1000 more/1000 less than the number of the day

-write the sum of the digits in the number

-write 3 addition or subtraction equations that are equivalent names for the number

-identify which digit is in the ones, tens, hundreds, and thousands place

-round the number to the nearest 10
