Number of the Day is a great activity to do daily, weekly or for assessment purposes with your students. This activity helps build number sense. Students are required to represent and describe numbers in various ways in Number of the Day. This package includes six different versions of Number of the Day that your students can complete. These sheets are fill-able and include a spot where you can put a number of your choice in in order for differentiation in your classroom. Some of the various number representation options in this activity include:

-Representing a number on a number line
-Representing a number using pictures (drawing)
-Representing a number using concrete materials (base ten blocks, ten frames)
-Representing a number using coins
-Representing a number using tallies
-Recording a number using letters and words
-Creating number sentences (addition and subtraction)
-Determining if the number is odd or even

-Ten more, ten less
-Skip-counting from the Number of the Day by 2s, 5s and 10s
-Counting forwards and backwards by 1s starting at the Number of the Day
