Students independently (or as a pair) practice their number sense with this quiet activity. Here are some tips of how I use it in my classroom:
-I put it into a plastic page protector and have kids use dry erase markers, so we're not wasting paper. You could even put it on cardstock and laminate it.
-I use the date. For example, if it's May 3, It would be 503.
-Students should check this with a partner. It is a good activity to do as they come in the classroom.
It's not challenging, but really solidifies some basic concepts and strengthens number sense.
