This Packet Includes:
- Number Of The Day Assessment- Thousands
- Number Of The Day Assessment- Ten Thousands
- Number Of The Day Assessment- Hundred Thousands
I use the Number Of The Day quiz bi-monthly. I pick easier numbers in the beginning of the school year and progressively choose more difficult numbers.
For example, I may start out with a two digit number throughout the months of September and October. I also do the first couple together as a class. Once students have the format mastered, I move to three digit numbers.
I pick the numbers that I want students to use. I try to pick a variety of numbers. I may choose 203 so students have to count back by 10 and cross a hundred.
Once students achieve two perfect scores, they are given a similar test from 1,000 up to 10,000 and so on from there. These are provided in the packet.
Students track their progress in their Leadership Data Notebooks. They set goals periodically throughout the school year in each academic subject. Once they have mastered their goal, they write a new goal.
The Understanding of Place Value is a must before students can master this assessment. We chart the Place Value Assessment as a second grade WIG or “Wildly Important Goal.” My 2nd grade team meets once a month to look at our class data and talk about interventions or extensions for students.
