We’ve seen many different ideas for teaching Number of the Day. Many of them were almost what we needed…but not quite! We wanted it to be Common Core aligned, so we took the components that we needed and made our own. This has been such a valuable tool for us this year. We were amazed at how well the students learned the relationship between numbers to 100. When we started Place Value in January, they had it!!
We kept these sheets in a Math data folder. We only used these sheets until the 100th day of school. Now, we use them one a week as an assessment tool. We write a random number (11 -100) in the Number of the Day spot. Everyone gets a different number. We usually pull one or two papers to show on the projector. We check over it, discussing any items that need correcting.
We hope you LOVE this as much as we do!!! Any feedback is appreciated! And THANK YOU for purchasing!
