Learners normally don't find the concept number patterns (sequences) difficult. What they do struggle with is getting familiar with the new notation used for sequences.
This worksheet is set up to familiarise the learners with the notation by doing a set of simple self-guided activities.
Very little previous knowledge of patterns are expected (Learners do not need to be able to determine the formula of a pattern), but learners should be able to solve simple linear equations.
It can be used with any grade where you want to introduce sequence notation or as intervention in the higher grades for learners who still confuse the term value with n.
