There are two maps, one of Europe, one of Denmark, with geography questions to help students visualize the settings of the story. Answer sheets for map activities are included. This is a great way to integrate social studies with ELA lessons!

Detailed teacher instructions for pre-reading, reading and post reading activities are provided. All worksheets have explanations for students and directions of how to use them.

This packet is aligned with the Common Core for grades 4, 5 and 6 (Informational Text and Literacy Standards) to accommodate a wide range of learners in each grade. Not all Standards are listed in the product description, but can be found on a separate page in the packet.Seventh and eighth grade teachers also use this packet with their students!

If your state doesn't align with the Core, all essential ELA strategies are covered. There are extension activities as well.

It's recommended these worksheets be used with small groups to provide students with the opportunity to discuss and collaborate for answers. Open ended questions are included, but answer sheets aren't provided for those questions because answers may vary.
