These word problems start out with just words on the first slide and then slowly add in more information (numbers and the question) over the next 3 slides. This allows your students to really think about what the question is asking and not just "number hunting".
To solve these, I have my students draw a picture and add in information (the numbers) as I click through the slides. Then they finally get to determine the operation, set up their problem, and solve it when I put the last slide up.
This PowerPoint includes six single-step word problems.
