First Grade Numberless Word Problems to Sort... and then Solve. Tested in Grades 1 and 2.
“They just add all the numbers! It doesn’t matter what the problem says.”
-said Every Teacher. Ever.
These cards were designed to SUPPORT your Numberless Word Problem lessons where students are challenged (forced) to consider the context BEFORE just adding up the numbers! I do these with first graders midway through the year, second graders early in the year and occasionally with third grade intervention groups and special ed students since you can choose your own numbers!
Reuse the headers and recording sheets for ANY problems. Students can choose their own or teachers can provide them. If you have not tried this yet, please check out Brian's fabulous blog, "Teaching to the beat of a different drummer".
