Practice Number Sense with numbers 1 through 10 with these 24 Task Cards for young learners in kindergarten or first grade. Give your students this fun opportunity to practice the skills needed to master number sense with numbers to 10. Students will work on identifying, counting, reading and writing numbers 1 through 10.

These Task Cards can be used many ways —whole group review for Grades K-1 as a scavenger hunt, scoot game, or small group as a math center for additional practice and intervention.

It’s so important for young learners to understand that numbers can be shown in different ways! This resource is extremely visually appealing and great for getting math brains to think. It’s as equally important to get young learners UP and MOVING! A favorite way to use this resource is as a scavenger hunt. Hiding the task cards around the room and seeing students have a BLAST searching everywhere, all while strengthening their number sense skills, is just how we want students learning!

These Task Cards would be perfect for a back to school number review in Grades K-1, or as an intervention resource.

Students will practice mastering their number sense skills by finding and identifying numbers 1 to 10 in four different ways:

• Find Numbers that are 1 MORE Than What’s on the Ten Frame.
• Read Number Words and Draw That Many Circles to Represent the Number.
• Count a Number of Objects in a Picture.
• Count Forward From a Number to Find the Next Number in a Sequence.

This Number Sense Math Resource Includes:

• 24 Task Cards in Color
• A Recording Worksheet
• Ideas for Uses in the Classroom

Count to 120, starting at any number less than 120. In this range, read and write numerals and represent a number of objects with a written numeral.
Count to answer “how many?” questions about as many as 20 things arranged in a line, a rectangular array, or a circle, or as many as 10 things in a scattered configuration; given a number from 1-20, count out that many objects.
Understand the relationship between numbers and quantities; connect counting to cardinality.
Write numbers from 0 to 20. Represent a number of objects with a written numeral 0-20 (with 0 representing a count of no objects).
Count forward beginning from a given number within the known sequence (instead of having to begin at 1).
