It's time to spread out on the floor and count! 1-20
It takes a bit of space spreading out the number strip all over the floor, but it is lots of fun! Moving their whole bodies to accomplish the goal is very engaging and good for the brain!
Match the object cards to the numbers on the large number strip. Then use real objects from the classroom to place on the blank cards.
When laminating, align the number pages in order, carefully together with just a hiccup of space between them, and you will be able to fold the long number strip up together when storing.
Or if desired, cut the 1-20 number cards apart from each other and have the students place them in the correct order.
Next, the students will place the cards with groups of objects under the correct numbers. (One set of pictures depicting the number is already attached for guidance.)
Then place the blank cards under the numbers for students to use as designated space to count and place objects from around the room like paper clips, pennies, pencils, dry beans, Legos, etc. matching each number.
*OTHER USE FOR THE NUMBER STRIP: You could use as a number line for subtraction and addition, allowing them to STEP forward or backward accordingly on the number line!
