Use these centers to differentiate in your math workshop, game, or center time.
These centers can also be found in my grade specific, Reusable and Editable Emergency Substitute Binders.
Need more resources for your struggling learners or for your gifted and advanced students? These centers are also located within my Numbers and Operations Bundle.
Five math stations for 3rd grade CCSS standards are included with Number Cards to use with each game (differentiated with a challenge choice)
a. Estimation Station:
Students choose four cards to make a four digit number. They must race their partner to round that number to the nearest tens and the nearest hundreds.
b. Place Value Strategist: Students draw four number cards and must use their knowledge of place value to create the greatest and least number possible.
c. Addition's My Mission: Students will add 4 digit numbers with one student as the “talker” and another student as the “writer.” The talker must explain what to do, step by step so the writer can write. The writer can only do what the talker specifically states.
d. Comparing #'s War: Each student draws 4 cards and makes a 4 digit number, then they show each other the number. The person who created the largest number wins.
e. Mental Math Mania: Students create the largest 4 digit number out of cards and then must race to find 10 more and less and 100 more and less.
