Product Description
Numbers to 10 Graphic Organizer: Numeracy Mats for Number of the Day

Print on legal size paper and laminate for a reusable dry-erase math activity mat!

Excellent as a daily worksheet to have ready on desks in the morning, or print and staple for numeracy workbooks.

Also great to project onto a whiteboard or SMARTboard and do with large- or small-groups.

Includes Sections for:
-Trace the Number (10)
-Trace the Number Word (ten)
-Draw (ex. 10 happy faces)
-Tally Marks (ex. four = llll)
-Ten Frame Shading
-Part-Part-Whole (break the number in two)
-Number sentence for Part-Part-Whole ( _+ _ = 10)
-Part-Part-Part-Whole (break the number in three)
-Number sentence for Part-Part-Part-Whole ( _+ _ + _ = 10)
-Odd or Even: To determine odd vs. even, have children start on odd and go back-and-forth marking a tally under the word each time as they count up to the number. They will land on the correct word. i.e. For the number 5, they would count: "one (odd), two (even), three (odd), four (even), five (odd) - it's ODD"! (Ending up with three tallies under odd and two tallies under even).

This activity is easy to differentiate, as some children can be doing part-part-whole with dots, while others use numerals, etc. After the first 10 pages (#s 1-10) there are 10 more pages (#s 1-10) that are slightly harder. I start all students on the simpler mats (the 1st ten) and then bump up those students that are ready.
I recommend to print single-sided and use glue stick to make back-to-back mats, then laminate, so that you have long-lasting, two-in-one mats. This way, children who finish quickly can flip the mat over and keep going.

NEW! DUE TO NUMEROUS REQUESTS, I have made an extension of this activity that is Numbers 10 to 20. Please view it at http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Numbers-10-to-20-Graphic-Organizer-Numeracy-Mats-for-Number-of-the-Day-974735
