In this set, you get a black and white story board for the students to color, cut out and act out the story.
You also get a color version that you can print out, laminate and put in your math center! (I keep mine in a gallon sized zip-lock bag.) Print out as many as you need in your center....the kids can work together as partners and take turns doing the “singing” part and the “acting out” part. (Put a play phone with it!)
The practice worksheets are for different ways to do subtraction to 5 which goes along with the story/song.
But take it one step further and do addition too! What happens if one monster gets BACK on the bed?!
You have a page for decomposing number 5.
There is a page where they cut and sequence the numbers to five.
There is also a page for the students to write in what number comes before/after a given number to 5.
How many monsters? Cut out and glue the correct number of monsters to match each number.
Number Word Cards with the number, number word and the amount of monsters for each number.
There are also pages to fill in the missing pips on dominos and dice to make five!
5 Large Monsters to print out on card stock, laminate and attach a stick handle for acting out the story.
Hope you and your students have fun learning with this!
