Students will compare and contrast the math contents on each slide to determine which items go together and which one does not belong. They will be using a gifted strategy that is valuable for all students to acquire the ability to use. Math tools that will be used for analyzing are: ten frames, rekenreks, countable objects, tally marks, counting cubes, place value tens rods and ones units. Each slide will have 4 math representations that students are comparing and contrasting. Students will develop a logical argument that they can defend with evidence when stating their answer. They will justify why they made the decision they did. This learning activity can be done
with the whole group, during a small guided math group, as a Tier Intervention, independently or with a math partner, or in a math center.
