I wanted to make my lesson on the Nuremberg Trials better this year, and this was the solution!
This is from Facing History and Ourselves. The previous class we quickly learned about the Holocaust, and this day opened with the Do Now questions of "Who is guilty and who is responsible for the atrocities committed during the World War II?" or "Are individuals responsible for wartime atrocities if they have obeyed the laws of their nation?" per the websites suggestions. We then watched the 13min mini doc on the trials, and then read through the attached whole class. Finally in partners students answered questions, and I had them choose two to discuss with a neighboring group. Students had a much greater understanding of the Nuremberg Trials following this lesson!
