Use this page to explicitly teach kids about RESET. First, discuss things that escalate us (cutting, pushing, cheating, etc.). Next, talk about typical reactions, such as yelling, crying, running away. Then, introduce the concept of resetting oneself back to status quo. Talk about strategies using the pictures at the bottom of the page. Instruct kids to pick their top three ways they would like to try to reset when upset. They cut those out and glue them on the volcano. They can discard the others. When finished, write positive words in the margins of the page telling how you may feel after resetting (calm, relaxed, happy, etc.).
