Need to teach your students about nutrients? This lesson is a low-prep activity allowing students ot utilize the nutrition.gov site to discover the five main nutrients including proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, and minerals.
Students will learn
★ What are proteins, essential and non-essential amino acids
★ What are carbohydrates and what they do in our body
★ What saturated, monosaturated and polysaturated fats are, and which one is healthiest
★ What vitamins do in our bodies, and which vitamins our body makes
★ What minerals are, where they come from, and food sources of minerals
