This lesson will summarize the societal factors that impact food production and supply. Emphasis will be placed on current farming practices and factors that influence them.
These include: subsistence agriculture, urban agriculture, free trade agreements, import and export restriction, demands for cash crops, input costs, etc.
By the end of the lesson, we will focus on livestock farming and the environmental concerns regarding it.
1. Discuss the factors that impact food production and supply, including: geography, physical conditions and natural disasters
2. Analyze the effects of different social, economic and political factors on food production and supply
3. Evaluate trends in agriculture that impact food production and supply
