Product Description
This nutrition project is a great hands-on way for your students to evaluate the nutritious value of two different foods. The students will first research a food item that they believe to be unhealthy and then research a food item that they believe to be healthy. They will fill out a fact sheet on each of the food items once they’ve completed their research. Finally, the students will be asked to create an advertisement for their healthy food item highlighting its healthy attributes. Depending on the level of your students and the amount of preparation time needed to decide groups and or foods, this activity will likely take one or two (45 minute) class periods.

Supplies needed for this activity:
Students will need access to nutrition facts for various foods. These can be brought in from home or searched for online. In addition, students will need supplies to create their advertisements or access to a computer in order to make them. Graph paper might also be helpful for some students when making their advertisement.
