Nutrition - Food Label and Meal Planning including two lessons.
Lesson 1 is how to read and assess food labels. Students research and complete a worksheet about how different parts (ingredients, such as sodium) of food can affect the heart. Students gather food labels and assess the nutritional value of the describe food.
Lesson 2 requires students to develop healthy or balanced meals using the food pyramid.
These lessons can be taught and completed in whole, small or one-on-one group instruction.
