This is a modern 5 day unit plan to teach students about the effects eating has on their body, local economy, and environment. I developed this for a rural school in Maine and taught it to 7th and 8th graders in a Health class. The first two days are lectures with embedded activities. The third day is a research project, and the fourth day is a trip to the school greenhouse. The last day is a assessment day. I hope this unit will fit well into your classroom, because teaching sustainable living is an important new topic in our personal, community, and environmental health classes.
