Product Description
The Complete Nutrition Unit contains 5 Lessons and a variety of supplemental materials. All lessons meet the National Health Standard and have clearly defined Daily Learning Targets/Objectives. Each lesson can be used for grades 7-12 and Homeschoolers. The Unit is designed to take 5 days to complete (Classes are 55 minutes). The unit includes 5 Lesson Plans, Student Worksheets, Teacher Answers,
Activities and Teacher and Student resources.

Lesson 1 includes these Learning Targets:
Students will begin to evaluate their eating habits.
Students will do this by listing 25 or more foods/drinks they consistently eat; they will determine if their eating habits will help reach my health goals.
Students will be assessed by their health evaluation of their food choices.

Lesson 2 includes these Learning Targets
Students will learn how to correctly complete an accurate one day food menu.
Students will learn this by using the One-Day Food Menu Form, using the resource “What is a serving size Information Sheet” and by observing and taking notes about the model they're supposed to follow.
Students will be assessed with a test grade on correctly completing their personal One-Day Food Menu Form.

Lesson 3 includes these Learning Targets:
Students will learn the importance of calcium in their diet, and make the proper food choices to get approximately 1,300 mg of calcium a day.
Students will do this by reading a short article about the importance of calcium, learning which foods have calcium in them and then develop their plan.
Students will be assessed by the correct completion of Dairy Calcium Worksheet.

Lesson 4 includes these Learning Targets
Students will learn how to prepare 3 different ways to of getting 1,300 mg of calcium in their diet.
Students will do this by meeting specific goals in the assignment.
Students will be assessed by the correct completion of the Daily Calcium Worksheet.

Lesson 5 includes these Learning Targets:
Students will apply the lessons they learned in meal planning.
Students will do this by meeting specific nutritional daily requirement goals appropriate to their age, gender and activity level.
Students will be assessed by correctly meeting 5 goals.

Extra Nutritional activities Include:
Fast Food Menu Test/activity— when you go on vacation you eat out — can the students meet their daily nutritional requirements?
