Lesson 3 of the Nutrition Unit includes these Learning Targets:
Students will learn the importance of calcium in their diet, and make the proper food choices to get approximately 1,300 mg of calcium a day.
Students will do this by reading a short article about the importance of calcium, learning which foods have calcium in them and then develop their plan.
Students will be assessed by the correct completion of Dairy Calcium Worksheet.
The Complete Nutrition Unit contains 5 Lessons and a variety of supplemental materials. All lessons meet the National Health Standard and have clearly defined Daily Learning Targets/Objectives. Each lesson can be used for grades 7-12 and Homeschoolers. The Unit is designed to take 5 days to complete (Classes are 55 minutes). The unit includes 5 Lesson Plans, Student Worksheets, Teacher Answers,
Activities, and a number of Teacher/Student resources.
