This "FAST-TRAK" FULLY ONLINE Graduate Credit course is offered under a partnership between ASPD and Brandman University. Graduate credit applies toward ESL/Bilingual endorsement in IL, and may apply toward requirements for ESL/Bilingual "add-on" certification or endorsements in other states. (Each registrant is responsible to assure that this course will apply for the purposes intended.)
WHAT YOU WILL DOWNLOAD: Upon payment, you will get the course syllabus AND DIRECTIONS FOR ACCESSING THE ONLINE CLASSROOM. All course content will be available in the OnlineClassroom.
DURATION: 75 days from date the registrant is added to the OnlineClassroom.
COURSE DESCRIPTION: Gain deeper awareness of how one’s personal attitudes, values, and beliefs about language, patriotism, culture, teaching, learning, power, privilege, and other cultural norms, values, and mores impact teaching and learning. Participants will relate these concepts to cross-cultural interactions in educational settings and explore implications about how these impact interactions with students and their families, instructional decisions, and perceptions about student performance, teaching, and learning within your professional practice.
CREDIT OPTIONS: 3 graduate credits (additional fee required); 45 IL CPDUs; 45 CEUs (as permitted by other states)
INFORMATION ABOUT OPTIONAL GRADUATE CREDIT
As a result of our high-quality programs, ASPD enjoys a partnership with the prestigious, private, and fully accedited Brandman University (CA). As a result, gradudate credit is available to those who desire it for salary advancement, additional endorsements/certification, or to fulfill electives. Decisions to accept these credits lie with the receiving instution (e.g., state, district, etc.), and NOT ASPD.
GRADUATE CREDIT REGISTRATION AND COST:
Those desiring graduate credit will register directly with Brandman University for course EDDU 9390, for an additional $150 paid directly to Brandman using a form provided in the course's OnlineClassroom. Brandman is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
Graduate credit is available only to those with a Bachelor's Degree, or higher. Those who do not possess at least a Bachelor's Degree may not enroll in this course. No refunds will be provided to those who improperly register.
