Product Description

Simplify unit planning, lesson planning with curriculum-at-a-glance! This tool is designed to be user friendly, moreso than having to flip back and forth through the curriculum documents that the Ontario Ministry of Education publishes. It’s exactly what’s in the Curriculum Document, but made much more simple. The only thing not included in here that is included in the original Math document is the sample problems in parentheses after each specific expectation. Those sample problems are wonderful and you should certainly use them for pedagogical inspiration! I haven’t included them here to make the checklist easier to read and use for planning, assessment, and checking what students should know in which grade.

This resource allows you to look at multiple grades and expectations at the same time, with Math Strand Specific Expectations clustered together for simple reference.

Check what your students should already know and use it to develop your own diagnostic assessments. Especially for new teachers or teachers who bounce around from grade to grade, this tool is useful to see what your students should already know, what to review, and what to show your students to prepare for next year.

Ideas for Use

  • Check off overall expectations as they are covered in your instruction in the “Highlights of Student Learning section” throughout the year
  • Unit Planning and Lesson Planning
  • Split-grade Planning
  • Check skills to review from previous grades alongside what you are about to teach
  • See what skills can be used to enrich high-performing students
  • Special Education! Use this to easily develop Modified IEPs and track student progress
  • Provide the "Highlights of Student Learning Page" for your classroom to your parent community so they know what math concepts will be covered this year
