### PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This is a wonderful activity that will have students learning from each other. Ever get frustrated when students constantly look for confirmation that their work/answer is correct? With this activity, students check their work with their partner using different problems, which is comforting for the students and a time saver for you! This activity also helps students find mistakes which allows wonderful dialog between students.

Objective:
Students will simplify expressions using the Order of Operations. Including problems using square roots and bar notation. Does not include absolute value.

Directions to Teachers:
Students are to work in pairs, taking turns rolling two dice.
The numbers rolled determines which problem the students work on.
For example, if they roll a 3 and 4, then the first student simplifies problem (3,4) and the second student simplifies problem (4,3).
The students should get the same answer.
If they do not get the same answer, the responsibility lies with the students to find and fix the mistake(s).
I have the students use their own paper to show their work and use highlighters to mark which problems they have completed.

If paper is tight, consider making just one class set of the boards. Have students draw a different colored dot by a completed problem. 1st period uses red, 2nd period uses green, etc.

*Please note you will need dice or a dice simulator to complete this activity.
