Product Description
Students get a hands on experience practicing ordering of rational numbers. I used this and it went so well, I wanted to share. As always, I have no fluff and thrill photos on my worksheets but good layout and student practice. Students discuss in pairs the placement of the rational numbers. I liked this because they often choose 5 cards with a mix of negatives and positive numbers (for example). They quickly separated the negative rational cards with the positive rational cards to order them. Since there were 5 cards, students were relieved they only had a true comparison of 2-3 negatives at a time. They also convert to decimals to confirm their answers.
