Product Description
OWLS: This owl Interactive and Informational resource has several engaging activities that will enrich your owl study, or compose an owl unit. This owl resource is more than just graphic organizers and worksheets!

One major feature in this resource is the mini book / envelope booktivity, (which can also be a lap book). It is designed to be a fully interactive project that will take your owl study to another level!

There are several pieces that are easy to cut out and assemble--little prep, since the cards are all the same size and can be lined up to cut. Flap and accordion pieces are included to put into the "book" or to the lapbook/ folder.

After reading and assembling their fact cards, they write a brief report based on the information, and complete a self-assessment checklist (included).

You may find some other ways to use this to suit your students’ needs. The time needed will depend upon your students’ skill level and the lesson periods you have available.

Students will interact with informational text by:
1) Gathering, aligning, and assembling components to create a mini book
2) Reading key vocabulary words and including them in the book-tivity
3) Referring to a glossary to check meaning
4) Writing a short report using details from this resource and other resources
5) Self-reflecting on learned material, using a checklist
6) Using the writing process: building schema, pre-writing, writing first draft, editing/revising, publishing a short report

Your kids will be delighted with the photographs!
