Primary Standards Addressed: MAFS.3.MD.2.3 – Draw a bar graph where each square represents one pinto bean plant. LAFS.3.RI.3.7 – Use information gained from illustrations (e.g., maps, photographs) and the words in a text to demonstrate understanding of the text

Materials: Graph paper, Chart paper, Markers, lip-lock bags, pinto bean seeds, Magazine cut-outs of plants and seeds, glue, rulers, Sherra Edgar- Pictographs, Brian Knapp- Math Matters! Grids and Graphs, Betsy Franco – Zero is the Leaves on the Tree

Essential Question of the Day:
How can you tell that there was more growth from your seeds by looking at a bar graph?
