This is an additional download that supports the video.
In this video, Dr. P. defines and illustrates two key skills in History and analytical writing -- making observations of an historical artifact and drawing inferences from it. Dr. P. asks students to make observations of Queen Elizabeth I's Armada Portrait and then shares her own. Next, Dr. P. asks students to draw inferences from the observations that she / they have just made; after pausing the video, students listen to inferences that Dr. P. drew. Dr. P. also models note taking in a graphic organizer (chart).
