This is a short and simple homework assignment testing student knowledge of the concepts of observations and inferences in an engaging way. The assignment is divided up into three parts. Part one gives the students a series of six somewhat comical scenarios and asks them to come up with a logical inference to go along with each one. Part two shows the students three different pictures and asks them to come up with both an observation and an inference for each picture. Part three gives the students a scenario from a science classroom and then lists eight statements about this scenario which students need to correctly classify as observations and inferences. Included with the worksheet is an answer key.
