Ready to start sorting with your students? Here's an easy way to get them started!
Designed for 3-5 year old children, this simple sorting task asks students to sort by big/little using common ocean animals. The file folder even has boxes in the appropriate sizes to help guide learning. I would glue the full sheets into a file folder and have a simple file folder game to start introducing the concept of sorting (the skill I usually introduce after we have mastered matching). This set includes big and little crabs, starfish and octopus. You could set up your file folder games in several ways: sort big crabs and big starfish, sort big and little octopus, etc. Created by *miss kim designs* a store for the unique learners in your life.
Instructions for creating the matching task are included in the .zip file.
This sorting game goes well with my Adapted Book: Clown Fish Lives in the Ocean
These matching tasks are perfect for use with many of my adapted books. My adapted books are created for use in pre-K, preschool, early childhood special education and child care classrooms. Each book is interactive and focuses on new vocabulary. To see my inventory of adapted books, click here.
