This interaction short story is great for using with learners with autism or other communication disabilities. It allows students to follow along with the story, but stay engaged as they have to place the number on the correct page.Interactive books require students to count, move numbers and participate. This active participation improves attending skills while reducing off task time.
This book builds number identification, one-to-one correspondence. Your students will be engaged and happy to practice math.
These stories are great to use with students 1:1 on or in small groups taking turns to place the pictures on.
My students ages 3-5 with varying needs LOVE these books!
Pages 1-11 should be cut in half where the page indicates you to cut. Leave page 12 as a whole sheet, to use as the back of the book. This is where you will velcro the numbers from page 13 while you are not reading.
I laminate all the pages and cut them out, then place them out of order and hole punch. Use binder rings to hold your book together, or book binding, your choice!
