Ocean Fact & Opinion Lesson
This includes a lesson plan, SMART board presentation, and three differentiated centers.
The lesson plan includes details on how to use these resources in the classroom.
The SMART board presentation includes a photograph of the ocean to be used as a springboard to discuss fact and opinion statements; a slide that defines fact and opinion statements; a slide with clues for identifying fact and opinion statements; a slide with a sorting activity for guided practice.
There are three differentiated centers. I made file folder centers out of the three activities. The first center is a sorting activity. The second center is reading and identifying fact and opinion statements. The third center is a reading activity and students have to identify fact and opinion sentences on their own. Each center has a recording sheet.
