This is a 4 part ecosystem unit that will help your students gain knowledge and understanding of the required components of a self-sustaining ocean life ecosystem. It is recommended to conduct this unit within 4-5 days.
Part A will discuss food chains. Here your students will use a list of living things and their food source to complete a food chain.
In Part B your students will expand their knowledge of food chains into food webs. They will be required to complete the food web given.
Part C will introduce your students to an ecosystem. Their understanding grows as they are required to complete an ecosystem diagram.
During Part D your students will apply their understanding to a real-life situation, creating an ocean life ecosystem on a poster board.
Part E includes the rubric for this unit. The rubric scores range from 3 being the highest score to the number 1, being the lowest score.
Finally, Part F is optional, offering your students an opportunity to self-evaluate their group and themselves.
11 colored clipart, 13 black and white clipart, answer keys and an example are provided.
