How To Play
The goal of Ocean Life Lotto is to cover all pictures on the game board.
1. Each child selects a game board and a pile of cover-up cards.
2. Shuffle the lotto cards and place them face down in a pile.
3. The first player flips the card on top and reads it; if any player has the matching picture on her game board, she covers it with a cover-up card.
4. Play continues with the next player.
5. The first player to cover all the pictures wins!
For Small Group Instruction
Make the game more challenging by NOT showing the pictures on the lotto cards (at first) and giving hints instead! (For example, if the sad faced lotto card is pulled, say, “This creature has eight tentacles.”) Show the appropriate vocabulary card after youngsters respond verbally.
