The Ocean of Place Value game provides oceans of fun and learning. You are on an undersea adventure with your friends. Everytime you solve a place value problem, you can take a picture of one of your favorite sea creatures. Who will take the most pictures?
This activity provides practice deconstructing 2 or 3-digit numbers. Select either the ones/tens or ones/tens/hundreds board and the corresponding fish number cards. Each player is dealt 8 number cards. Players move around the board. When they land on a place value (3 tens) they search their number cards to find numbers that meet the criteria (any numbers from 30-39). For each qualifying number, the student can take one picture (place a camera marker on a sea creature), then replace their used cards. Extra card and return a card spaces add excitement. Includes 2 game boards, 2 sets of number cards, camera markers and 1/10 and 1/10/100 recording sheets. You will need a small marker for each player and a standard 1-6 die.
