Product Description
Every pirate needs a treasure chest for their treasure! This pirate treasure chest craft works well with an ocean theme or pirate unit. Two treasure chest templates - one for a 3D craftivity and one with a flat design allow you to modify the activity for a variety of skill levels. Pirates earn jewels to fill their chests as they complete language tasks.

This can be a print and go activity if items do not need to be precut for students! Students will color (if desired), cut, fold, and glue the treasure chests together. They will also cut out the jewels as they complete the associated language tasks. If desired, attach the jewels to the chest using a ribbon so they don't fall out.

What's included:
• 2 treasure chest templates
print on white and let students color, print on colored paper, or on patterned paper
• Action jewels
identify the pictured action before placing it in the treasure chest
• Pronoun jewels
identify the pictured pronoun before placing it in the treasure chest
• Preposition jewels
identify the pictured preposition before placing it in the treasure chest
• Category jewels
match the 4 category members to the category label before putting it in the chest
• Ocean vocabulary jewels
name the pictured vocabulary
• Compare and contrast jewels
compare and contrast the pictured items
• Antonym jewels
give the opposite for the pictured word (match is not included - it can be written on the back of the jewel)
• Synonym jewels
give another word for the pictured word (match is not included - it can be written on the back of the jewel)
• Multiple Meaning jewels
match two meanings for the given word before placing all three jewels in the chest - can glue together if desired
• Big/Small jewels
decide whether to use the big or small jewel in the chest
• Blank jewels
create your own!

Jewels have pictures to aid non-readers, with the exception of the big/small, multiple meaning, and blank jewels. Expand on these activities by having students use the given words in a sentence (increase MLU), have students explain how an attribute describes the picture, etc.
