Product Description
This packet contains a word work literacy menu with 9 activities for the month of October. Many centers have more than one option for differentiating instruction. These centers are common core aligned specifically for Kindergarten, but may be used for Prekindergarten and/or struggling First Graders. The activities on the menu can be used as literacy centers, early finisher activities, or in small groups.

Playdough: Use playdough to make letters, sight words, spelling words, etc.

Disappearing Words: Write each word, then write it again and leave one letter out. Then write it again and leave two letters out, then three. until your word has disappeared!!!

Fall Read the Room

Spider Race: This game can be played in two ways.

Option 1: Pull a letter and write it in the ghost. Write the letters that come after. This activity was designed to be used in the sensory table. If you do not have a sensory table you can use a sensory tub, bucket, etc..

Option 2: Use links and letter cards to spell sight words, spelling words, etc.

Read It, Make It, Write It: Students will practice reading and writing short i word family words—ig, in, ip, and it. Depending upon the readiness of your students CVCC words are included.

Letter Web: Choose a letter card and place it in the spider web. Say the letter and write the letters that come after in the squares below the web.

Web of Words: Choose a picture card and place it in the spider web. Stretch the word and write the sounds your hear in the squares below the web.

Monster Mash: Use clothespins to clip the rhyming words together. This can be used in a sensory table, sensory tub, or bucket.

Spooky Words: Write words in a spooky handwriting.

Magnetic Letters: Use magnetic letters to make sight words, spelling words, etc.
